The all-new chassis design features new flex characteristics and uses M4 screws throughout for comfortable & reliable assembly. The milled-out sides of the chassis allow for a laydown servo mounting configuration, for the lowest possible CG. Thanks to the overall significantly lowered CG of the electronics, the car is more dynamic and has improved cornering speed.
The chassis has cut-outs for the bulkheads, arm mounts, radio plate mounts, and front layshaft holder for perfect fitment, to ensure these parts will always mount into the same precise position.
The outer edges of the chassis are beveled, and screw holes are countersunk to provide a smooth lower surface for maximum clearance during cornering.
The lightweight chassis is CNC-machined from 5mm premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum, strategically machined in low-stress areas to make it as light as possible without affecting strength or rigidity.

The carbon rear shock absorber holder features new shock position to accommodate the shortened shock absorbers to improve the stability of the car.
The shock absorbers feature shorter lower ball joints to accommodate the new geometry.

The uprights were redesigned & machined to allow the shock absorbers to be mounted on new redesigned carbon shock mounting extensions. The redesigned radio tray supports two battery sizes, accommodating mid-size batteries by default and allowing short batteries to be installed using the included additional holders.
An integrated cable organizer can be mounted to the tray for clean and efficient cable management. The front section of the tray features adjustable bushings that enable fine-tuning of the Multi-Flex settings.
Radio plate allows for changing the bushings above the servo saver to alternate between a fixed or flexible front attachment, adjusting the overall flex level of the car, and is supported by new aluminum radio plate stands designed to enhance the multi-flex system.
The unique carbon radio plate features a new flex system for quick & easy changes between soft or stiff flex settings for fine tuning the handling.

The servo saver also features easily adjustable Ackermann positions that greatly influence the steering characteristics, allowing the RX8 to be tuned for all driving styles and track conditions.

The front lower bumper features extra body mount positions to fit all popular racing bodies. The aluminum front body posts use eccentric mounting for front/rear mounting positions.

New front left aluminum bulkhead features stronger M4 set screw mounting of the muffler, for a more secure and reliable mounting. The aluminum stand for 2nd speed shaft was redesigned and includes attachment of the carbon plate for the middle belt tensioner. Rear suspension holder was also redesigned and is mounted with M4 set screw for secure mounting.
The lower profile of the front bulkheads allows the radio tray to sit lower for improved CG. The upper shock mount position is also integrated into the bulkhead eliminating the need for a separate shock tower and creates an additional flex adjustment for the front suspension using included cross brace. The innovative front upper shock mounting system installs the front shocks directly to the upper clamps using shims for setup adjustments.
The lightweight front upper arm holder features an additional flex setting by connecting the holder to the front bulkhead from the side to reinforce the assembly. The upper arm holders use the smaller eccentric bushings and spacing shims from the NT1 for a more compact design to create the space to lower the radio tray height and reduce the overall CG.
The receiver box was completely redesigned. The new lightweight shape is ultra-compact and can be positioned as low as possible and closer to the chassis centerline for better weight distribution.
The rear suspension holders are mounted with 2 large screws instead of 4 small screws for maximum reliability. The holders’ lowest position is very low, to help generate the most amount of traction when needed. The chassis provides adequate clearance for this low position. The rear wheelbase setting is adjusted by moving the upper and lower arms along the long suspension holder pins.
Long rear suspension holder pins for upper and lower suspension allow moving the position of the rear arms for a rear wheelbase adjustment.
The front & rear lower suspension holders are fully independent from the bulkheads, mounting directly to the chassis to maximize traction and make the car easier to drive.
The suspension mounts are CNC-machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum to provide the lightest & strongest framework for the car.
New longer front lower pivot balls are used to offset the narrower front suspension pivot point and retain full width adjustments.
The RX8E pivot ball suspension contains precision pivot balls that are specially hardened to better withstand harsh crashes and extend their lifespan. A total of eight (8) pivot balls are included and are captured by strong M10 composite nuts to minimize weight and give smooth suspension movement.

The rear uprights can use the optional carbon aerodynamic disks that can increase rear traction and stability in high-speed corners.
The rear uprights feature two easily adjustable upper roll center positions that are used for traction adjustment. The uprights also feature two body mount adjustment positions depending on the type of body used. Short and long pivot ball joints are also included for optimum set-up adjustment.
To improve out of the box performance in all standard racing conditions, the choice of the anti-roll bars was revised with the front 2.4mm and rear 2.6mm anti-roll bars and appropriate roll bar bushing sizes.

To increase the reliability and strength, the rear drive train features a wide 9mm PUR belt. The PUR®-reinforced high-efficiency low-friction drive belts ensure that power is properly and efficiently transferred to all drivetrain parts.
Shock bodies are CNC-machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum and hardened to ensure maximum lifespan. External fine threading allows for quick & easy ride height adjustment. The shocks feature low-profile membranes for super-smooth, precise damping.
The set of pistons includes 2- and 3-hole pistons with 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2mm diameter holes. The pistons are precision molded from special Delrin™ material to ensure perfect roundness for extra-smooth dampening, while maintaining maximum stiffness and durability.
To provide a perfect feeling out of the box for most standard track conditions, the included shock springs are the C7.5 springs in front, and C5.6 for the rear. The C7.5 provides maximum stability, and at the same time more steering into the corner.
The RX8 springs, like all the other XRAY springs, are manually measured, selected, and matched into pairs to guarantee precisely equal length and tension characteristics.
New rear aluminum bulkheads have a 2mm wheelbase adjustment for the lower and upper arms for easy traction tuning.
Wheelbase can be easily adjusted using clips on the front suspension. Moving the arms towards the front or rear can also be used to fine-tune weight balance.
The motor mount bulkhead is moved together with center belt more outside to create more space for the motor to allow to mount various motors more comfortable.
The rear body mount holder allows the mounting of all popular racing bodies and meets all rules. The reinforced body mount is reliable and durable to withstand hard crashes.
Pivot pins for rear upper & lower and front lower suspension arms are designed to fit aluminum suspension mounts. Rear upper pivot pins feature a machined groove that allows better fixing by set-screw, helping to prevent pins from coming out during operation.
To guarantee maximum reliability, all turnbuckles are manufactured from special HUDY Spring Steel™ material for turnbuckles for maximum core strength.
The small 2-speed allows the use of smaller spur gears from the well-proven NT1, allowing fast acceleration and low rotating mass.
The spur gears are made from graphite material for improved durability. The special graphite material is also very light which helps to decrease the weight of rotating parts for improved acceleration.
The spur gears are molded with a special technique allowing the gears to be absolutely true, thus improving the drivetrain efficiency. Each gear is stamped with a tooth number for easy identification.
The RX8E features the most advanced, race-engineered suspension geometry for nitro on-road car racing and is designed to provide responsive racing characteristics under all racing conditions.
Over the years XRAY has successfully gained and utilized extensive suspension geometry knowledge and self-developed suspension stiffness technology, which have been used with great success in electric & nitro cars, both on- and off-road. The ultra-lightweight suspension parts are molded from special composite materials that make the parts very light yet very durable to withstand the rigors of high-performance racing.
The RX8E integrated suspension settings I.S.S. now uses in the front upper arm holders the smaller and lighter eccentric bushings from the NT1 platform. All adjustment possibilities are completely integrated, allowing complete set-up changes without changing or replacing suspension holders or plates.
The use of square eccentric bushings in the front bulkheads, as well as in the rear bulkheads for upper & lower suspension, allows for complete geometry adjustment. Roll centers are adjustable in the standard upper & lower positions, as well as in inner and outer positions. High-tensile steel suspension pivot pins are polished for smooth suspension action.
Front steering block and rear uprights feature concentric and eccentric bushings which allow roll center adjustment as well as positive caster adjustment in front. The eccentric bushings in the rear upright also allow independent wheelbase adjustment. The height of front and rear axles can be easily adjusted with eccentric bushings.
Wheel offset is easily adjustable by 0.5–2.5mm using included shims. This affects steering adjustment (when adjusted at the front) and also rear traction characteristics (when adjusted at the rear).
FRONT - Less offset at the front gives more in-corner steering and improved steering response. Recommended for small technical tracks.
More offset at the front gives more stability and makes the car easier to drive on large tracks or under high-grip conditions.
REAR - Less offset at the rear gives more in-corner steering, but less rear traction and stability. Therefore it is recommended to use less offset on small technical tracks or under high-traction conditions.
More offset at the rear makes the car more stable and improves cornering speed.
