XRAY’s Ty Tessmann achieved the first ROAR National Championship for the XT2. Enjoy the same winning platform that been tested and proven at the highest levels of competition.
XRAY’s dedicated staff produced the XT2 using advanced German and Swiss CNC machines and premium European materials. Engineered and manufactured at the XRAY factory in Slovakia; the XT2 is another example of the attention to detail the designers put into each of XRAY’s products.
Upon its debut, the XT2 won one of the world’s most competitive off-road series… the EOS. Hupo Hönigl won the Modified class and Max Götzl won the Stock class, making the XT2 a double-EOS Champion.
The XT2 is distinctively XRAY – a premium, professional, high-competition R/C stadium truck for the most demanding of racers; developed with attention to the smallest details and backed by leading service & support…a luxury masterpiece.
Successful development of the XT2 – like all other XRAY platforms – would not be possible without the entire racing team’s involvement working year-round to test new ideas, prototypes, and improvements. The racing team participates at events all around the world and provides XRAY drivers with first-class support & service; benefits of being a part of the XRAY team.
Multiple prototypes chassis were evaluated during development, testing for the best mix of stiffness, targeted flex characteristics and weight. The final version was selected for its responsiveness, balance and improved traction and stability.
The new XT2 chassis incorporates the updated layout, chassis reliefs and bent sides used by XRAY in the XB2 buggy platform in a long wheelbase version for the stadium truck. The rear section of the chassis is narrowed with chamfered edges for greater suspension clearance.
CNC-machined from high-quality 2.5mm Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum, the lightweight chassis retains the necessary strength and rigidity, and is black coated at XRAY’s own in-house fully robotic coating line.
The new chassis is universal for both Dirt and Carpet edition.
The new side guards integrate with the bent chassis to provide additional support for the chassis plate and serve the dual purpose as mounting points for the front chassis stiffening plates and the new adjustable battery holder system found in the XT2’21 truck.
The side guards are also universal for both Dirt and Carpet edition.
The new graphite side guard braces with redesigned shape make the front of the truck more stable and predictable. Three flex settings are available by installing different combinations of the mounting hardware between the braces and side guards to alter the vehicle stiffness.
Soft setting – more aggressive steering
Medium setting – setting in between
Stiff setting - more consistent and precise handling
The side guard braces are universal for both Dirt and Carpet edition.
All-new tweak-free fully adjustable battery holders are integrated into the side guards allowing easy and fast battery position adjustments, as well as simple battery installation through the smart quick-release system.
The battery pack is easily moved front/rear to adjust the balance of the XT2. If needed, the rear motor brace can be removed and the battery pack moved completely rearward to maximize the rear weight bias and generate extra traction on the rear suspension.
The height of the battery backstop is also adjustable for different battery sizes.
The battery holder is mounted to the chassis through one connecting screw on each side brace to eliminate any negative effects on chassis flex.
The battery holder is universal for both Dirt and Carpet edition.
New to the XT2, the super-narrow, ultra-low CG gear box (LCG) features quick & easy diff access. The new narrower design of the gear box reduces weight and moves all parts closer to the chassis centerline.
Gear box – for front motor position - keeps more weight over the front axle for improved steering and corner speed on high grip surfaces. Included in the Carpet and Dirt edition.
The gear box features a new differential height adjustment. There are 6 height adjustment positions available using the included eccentric bushings. The ideal position will vary depending on the track conditions, ride height and the size of the tires used.
The completely redesigned LCG gear box features super easy access to the differential. Now both XT2D and XT2C trucks benefit from the super easy diff access by removing only 6 screws.
The LCG gearboxes incorporate all the finest details and craftsmanship. All parts fit together perfectly, and the super-easy access to the rear differential will be appreciated by every racer. The durable gear box houses the differential with all the transmission components and serves as the mounting point for the rear roll center holder, motor plate, and rear shock tower.
The redesigned motor mount brace ensures optimum flex via a pivot ball mount that ensures side flex for increased traction.
The design of the XT2 chassis also allows removal of the motor mount brace to increase flex and to move the battery pack further to the rear to position more weight over the rear axles for improved rear traction.
The motor mount brace is universal for both Dirt and Carpet edition.
Carpet Edition only
The all-new LCG gear differential was completely redesigned. The differential case has greater internal oil volume to increase consistency of the diff action, yet it is significantly narrower to fit into the new LCG gear box and to move the rotating weight closer to the centerline.
The super-smooth gear diff uses a composite case and cover with internal satellite gears that are precision-molded from special XRAY-developed graphite composite material, ensuring a long lifespan and super-smooth, efficient operation.
The gear differential tends to increase on-power steering and is suggested for medium to high traction conditions and carpet tracks.
